A fee of around £400,000 was agreed with Wolves for the centre back which now puts the future of other players in doubt. Collins was set to replace St Ledger who went on loan to Middlesborough and was set to sign permanently in January. That deal now appears to be off with the Irish international back at Deepdale.
Neal Trotman has also finished his loan spell at Southampton and is back training at Preston. Chilvers is also still in the frame with Mawene on the long term injury list.
