"He is learning, has a lot of good attributes and hopefully will improve. His first goal for us will be good for his confidence," the PNE boss said after the game on Tuesday.
The win at Deepdale leaves Preston in 12th place in the league table just six points off a play-off place and Davies is pleased with the sides recent form.
"This is an important period for us and the players have responded excellently," he said.
"We have to keep our feet firmly on the ground and continue to work hard."
