New boy Davis and winger Lewis are going to be out with medial ligament knee injuries for at least two weeks claims the official PNE site.
Craig said on Monday: “They were both given the thumbs up this morning, but at this stage they are only running again.
“They are chomping at the bit to return to action, but they have yet to move on to kicking the all and twisting and turning. It looks like they could need another ten days, maybe a fortnight.
“What we don’t want is to rush them back and cause a recurrence, we have excellent replacements and we won’t push them back into action unless they are ready.
“Saturday will probably be too soon for both of them, and next Wednesday at Notts Forest may also prove to be a step too far, but the Wimbledon game back here at Deepdale is an achievable target for both Claude and Eddie.”
