Jamaican central defender Claude Davis has an unfortunate start to his PNE career after he informed he is out from two games, as he has damaged his medial ligament.
Manager Craig Brown said of the loss: "It’s a blow because he looked ok.
"The injury means he will be out for the Bradford and Coventry games. He went for a scan earlier this week and although he hasn’t damaged any cartilage he has strained his ligament and that could keep him out for four weeks."
Davis, who got many Man-of-the-Match awards for his solid home debut performance against Stoke, will see this as a major downfall. It took him several games to get his place in the side after the sturdy partnership between Lucketti and Jackson.
But Brown was desperate to see Claude in action, and gave him a place in the new 3-5-5 formation against West Brom. But now that Davis is out he will struggle to regain his position in the side. Broomes has started to regain his form from an earlier injury, and Jackson will have time to restore his faith from the manager if he puts in some solid performances.
