Determination Pleases Davies

Preston sailed into a two-goal half time lead and really wouldn't have been flattered had that scoreline been double that but the Hammers scored early in the second period and the Whites were made to battle hard to secure the win.

"Two excellent goals and it could have been more at half-time, with the play and the chances we created," Davies said after the 2-1 win at Deepdale.

"Then we go in at half-time lose an early goal in the second half but we showed great character in the second half to hang in and show a bit of determination.

"It's a very important win for us just before Christmas. We scored two great goals and I can't fault any of them because they're working extremely hard."
