Away victories are like buses for Preston. Not on for six months and then two in a row before Christmas followed by another lean period until this week. After defeating Leicester on Tuesday Preston took all the points at high flying Charlton.
Preston play well against the top sides and had to do so with Chilvers rupturing his achilles tendon in the warm up and looking like being out for the season. The defence coped well in his absence.
Preston took the lead early on through Chris Brown and had the best of the first half. Lerot Lita was kept quiet but with 15 minutes remaining Mccarthy got an equaliser for the home side.
The lead last a matter of minutes as a ball played into the box for brown who swivled and banged the ball into the net past Nicky Weaver to give the Whites all three points.
