This will be the first time since 1999 when PNE last played a non-league club when the Lilywhites won at Enfield 2-0 in the FA Cup Second Round replay after a 0-0 draw at Deepdale.

This will be the sixth match between the clubs and the second as a cup tie.

Preston won 3-2 at Underhill on 9 January 1965 in the Third Round in front of an attendance of 10,861 . Their previous FA Cup match was the FA Cup Final in 1964. PNE scored twice in the first five minutes via a 25 yarder from Howard Kendall in the first minute and a secord from Brian Godfrey. Barnet scord twice in the first seven minutes of the second half through Figg & Whyte to make it 2-2. Preston's winning goal came via Barnet's left-half who headed past his own keeper.

The other four league meetings came in Division Three in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons. Preston have a record of one won and lost three against Barnet in the league.
