The young left back was loaned out to Bolton to pick up some valuable experience. Despite picking up an injury and being suspended he did play numerous games impressing for the troubled League One outfit.
It is unclear if Earl will remain at Preston given Hughes has nailed down the left back berth with Rafferty filling in. Earl may well be sent out on loan again.
