England expects

It seems the followers of Preston North End are not the only ones who have been favourably impressed by their recently-recruited striker. The 20-year-old has been called up again to play for England Under-20s when they take on Russia in Moscow on August 16.

The PNE hot-shot, who began last season playing for Bury is gaining experience rapidly, having already scored his first goal for England - on his Toulon Tournement debut in May, and has also played in the playoff Final in Cardiff.

Barring injury, Nugent's England duties will not interfere with his job at PNE where, despite the recent stiffening of competition for forward positions at the club, he must be considered a near-certainty for selection every time.
