It was always a priority for Preston to recruit new goalkeepers after North End saw several shot stoppers leave for various reasons at the end of last season.
Two new signings were revealed so Preston could actually start their pre-season programme with some regular goalkeepers. The first signing was Freddie Woodman for an undisclosed fee from Newcastle.
Woodman played more than handful of games for Newcastle and will likely be installed as the new number one. He will have a lot to live up to with expectations set high last season.
North End also confirmed the signing of David Cornell on a free transfer as he was out of contract after leaving Peterborough. Connell will likely play second fiddle but should hopefully push Woodman for a spot in the team.
