Tha manager now has his list ready for players he needs and players he can let go for the League One campaign ahead.
There are five players who are still under contract but will be allowed to leave for the right price due to their wages being too high for a League One Club. Lonergan, St Ledger, Russell, Parry and Hayes have been told that if the right offer comes in then they will be allowed to leave the club.
It is thought that Ipswich are still keen on St Ledger whilst Lonergan has attracted interest from Everton it is unsure if any deal will be done with the Premiership club.
Nicholson has been offered a new contract and if Cris Brown and Darren Carter accept reductions in their weekly wage then they will be kept on but there is always a risk that they could find employment elsewhere. Brown is also hopeful of keeping loan signings Turner and Ellington.
