North End headed to Norwich after a midweek victory against West Brom but they were far from confident going forward having scored four league goals before Saturday.
The game got off to a poor start for Preston who fell behind early to a Sargent goal. The home side failed to take advantage and this came back to haunt them.
Riis who seems to have found some form scored to equalise before netting his third in two games to give Preston the lead shortly after the break. It was the first time this season that North End had scored more than one goal in a league game.
Norwich scored an equaliser through Sara but Preston were not to be denied when substitute Parrott came off the bench to score his first league goal for Preston to give them all three points.
The win puts Preston within touching distance of the top six but momentum will be key over the next few weeks as the games come thcik and fast before the World Cup break.
