In a time when Preston cannot afford to waste money on signing players that are not going to feature it seems strange that striker Chris Holroyd who was signed by Westley in January has been allowed to leave on loan to free up space on the wage bill.
Signing Holroyd was a waste of time and money. Westley will not admit that he was wrong but the starker havinscored one goal in twenty games has an abysmal record and wasnot what Preston needed.
The concern is that as Holroyd leaves until January, Westley has failed to identify a decent striker in his eight months at theclub although Sodje may be the shirt term relief in that regard.
Ironically Holroyd managed to score on his debut for Macclesfield yesterday just as Healy scored on his debut for Bury, Jake Jervis for Carlisle and Adam Barton for Coventry. What Westley would give now for some goals to add to a seemingly improved defence.
