Byrom went out on loan to Oldham last week as he had failed to feature for Preston in recent months despite an impressive run during the early season when Preston went on a winning run.
It has been a similar situation for Hume who is in the last year of his contract. Grayson actively wanted to keep the frontman at the start of the season after he returned from Doncaster on loan after been outcasted by Graham Westley.
Unfortunately, the form of Garner along with the Kevin and Craig Davies has meant that Hume has dropped down the pecking order. He will team up with former strike partner Jon Parkin at Fleetwood until the end of the season.
