The international break came at the wrong time for Preston. A thumping of Barnsley followed by two weeks away from domestic football resulted a distinctly below par performance against Reading.
North End conceded the only goal int eh game right at the death in the eigth minute of inury time. Rudd parried a long distance shot but the rebound fell for Miazga who managed to finish.
It might still be early days but this game falls into a similar category to Millwall. Both defeats by a single goal against teams who are struggling at the bottom of the table. Preston will have to improve away fm home against sdes scrapping for points if they want to maintain a position in the top six.
Preston have an immediate chance to bounce back as they face high flying Leeds at Deepdale before a derby game at home to Blackburn on Saturday. The table can change quickly with so many games in quick succession so Alex Neil will be looking for a positive response.
