North End were meant to travel to Bristol City last month but the game was postponed after the death of the Queen. The game was quickly rearranged but Preston fell to defeat.
Two goals which were wholly avoidable cost Preston. Lowe seemed to blame two long trips in succession for the below par performance. Questions therefore have to be asked over the gof this rearranged fixture but as a professional outfit Preston should be able to perform twice in a week.
Atkinson gave Bristol City the lead in the second half before Hughes equalised late on thinking a point was secured. The hosts then scored as the clock tcked into injury time through Atkinson again.
If Preston are to improve on the past few seasons then consistency is going to be key. They can ill afford to put in poor midweek performances against sides who are in a bad run of form.
North End now turn back to Deepdale where they will face Stoke at home as the busy period prior to the World Cup continues.
