Investigation Required

During the second half of today's game at Hillsborough, Westley was informed by the Wednesday bench that four Preston players had informed their counterparts of the Preston team and tactics.

Now Graham Westley has spouted some serious bullsh*t in his short tenure at Deepdale but this is a very serious allegation if the information that he has been passed is accurate.

The Football League are set to wait for any internal investigation that Preston may undertake butthere could be serious repercussions for the players and club as it goes against the belief that integrity is upheld at all times by Football League clubs as inscribed in their regulations.

If the allegations are true then the four players will surely face an internal disciplinary process. Depending on the outcome of that process which could be instant dismissal the Football League may take further action and look certain to adduce further information from Sheffield Wednesday and the players/staff who gave this information to Westley.

It is unclear if Dave Jones, the manager of Sheff Wednesday, was passed the information personally or whether it affected his team selection. The answer to the latter part is probably no as Preston played six defenders negating any attacking intent they may have had.

The allegations seemed to deflect from what was another poor performance by Westley's men but if found to be true would bring some sense and reasoning to why Preston have been performing so poorly under Westley.

It is not the first time that Westley has directed criticism towards his players despite him bringing in almost a new side since arriving at the club. He has hinted at further changes in the Summer but if these allegations are proved to be true then changes may come sooner.
