Ever since the departure of Eddie Lewis Preston have had trouble filling the left flank with Billy Davies often opting for a striker out on the left whilst Paul Simpson hopped between Pugh and Lewis Neal. Alan Irvine appears not to have a firm favourite in the current crop for that position either.
As all domestic seasons came to an end Irvine can now look to pursue his targets with some vigour before the players return for pre-season at the start of July.
