Jamie Jones has been out of favour at Preston for some time after signing at the start of last season. He has spent most of his time on loan after being in possession of the number one shirt at the start of last season.
The keeper was on loan for the first half of this season with the deal expiring just before Chrsitmas. He could have returned to Deepdale but decided to train with Luton for a short eriod.
Stevenage have now confirmed that they have signed the stopper to help with their leaky defence. Jones was out of contract in the summer and was well down the pecking order at Deepdale.
Preston have also confirmed that young keeper Steve James has left the club after he fell behind other youth keeper Matt Hudson who is now Preston's number three keeper.
