Last Minute Equaliser Denies Preston

Westley has kep a settled team of late and it shows with Preston continuing on an unbeaten run. Whilst it will make little consolation that Preston did not win this game Preston seem to be growing game by game and have come a long way in 10 months when they come away upset at not having taken all three points.

Huntington was the only change for this match as he came in for Bailey Wright. New boy Elding also featured from the bench as Preston looked to attack from the off.

The Whites had a number of opportunities throughout the game which could have finished off Brentford. Monakana and Holmes played well on the wings with the former at times terrorising the visitors defence.

Beavon, Wroe and Monakana all had attempts which on another day might have given Preston a comfortable leading but as it was the game remained level until the hour mark.

A corner was cleared out to Keane who whipped ina  cross. Huntington headed down and Laird managed to get his foot around the ball slamming his shot into the ground and above the keeper into the roof of the net.

Some will blame Westley for making substitutions with Preston ending the game with Elding playing up front on his own but there is no hiding that Preston should have been more than comfortable by the time Brentford equalised.

The visitors had rarely threatened and then with a minute left on the clock Keane was beaten for pace in his right back slot. The ball was whipped in and German pealed off his marker to head home.

Preston will be disappointed that they did not clinch all three points after having the majority of the game but another draw means that they maintain an unbeaten run which is now gathering momentum.

A home game against Notss County is another chance to close the gap further on the leaders before a trip to Leyton Orient where Preston should look to come back with something.
