Simon Grayson said after last Tuesday's voctory away at Bristol City that Grimshaw was set to sign subject to medical clearance. After several days of no news rumours started to spread especially given Grimshaw hails from Burnley.
The hold up was with the fact that Grimshaw needs a minor knee operation which will keep him out for 2 - 3 weeks. He should be up and running bythe end of February so not much time will be lost.
The youngster can play in midfield or across the back four so is a versatile addition to the squad. He has spent the first half of the season at Motherwell but joins Preston on a 2 1/2 year deal for an undisclosed fee.
