It became more apparant over the weekend that Ben Davies was likely to move to Liverpool and so Preston had to act swiftly to bring in a replacement on a temporary basis.
It was always likely that North End would look for a permanent replcaement at centre back in the summer but with the departure of Davies brought forward a loan deal was secured to bring Liam Lindsay to the club.
Lindsay will likely be thrown straight in the deep end with North End short of defenders. He is also left footed so can fill the void although he has had limited game time this season.
Preston will have numerous positions to address over the summer given the numerous loan deals that have been agreed this transfer window to plug the gaps left by the departing players who the club could not tie down to longer term deals.
