The Blackburn midfielder had agreed a loan deal to stay at Preston until the end of the season but had to come off with a groin complaint after his first forty five minutes. The player had suffered from a hernia and underwent an operation yesterday.
Linganzi has returned to Blackburn for rehabilitation which should take between four to six weeks. Preston have yet to decide whether to terminate the loan now in order to fee up a spare loan that Brown could use to bring in an extra player.
Brown believes that the timeframe for recovery would allow Linganzi to return before the end of the loan window closes in March. No firm decision has been made yet.
