PNE have got a huge boost in the return of Paul McKenna in midfield, who looks to pass a fitness test on Saturday.
Boss Craig Brown said: "Paul has got a chance of making the game at the JJB stadium.
"At the moment he is touch and go. It would be good to have him back in the squad.
"He provides a wee bit more creativity than some of the others in that department.
"They have the industry, but he provides the creativity. He has the ability to open up things.
The manager confessed last week that the Whites are struggling with putting in crosses, so he might consider resorting back to a 4-4-2 formation.
One injury worry is Rob Edwards, who is doubtful for the Wigan game tomorrow.
"We replaced Rob on Tuesday as soon as he felt the discomfort and at the moment the might be a worry for Saturday" said Brown.
This would mean that Briscoe would make his league debut for the Whites tomorrow, if he overcomes a niggling back injury.
