As is standard practice in this match Preston pitched two different sides in each half although it was noticeable that some players who Neil has effectively said are surplus to requirements were not involved at all.
For the record Maguire scored a first half hat trick with Billy Bodin and Graham Burke scoring a goal apiece with the latter making his debut for Preston.
Second half goals came from Moult before Harrop scored late on after earlier missing a penalty. Preston will now step up their pre-season training as the opneing league fixture is now less than one month away.
