Paul Coutts was born in Aberdeen on 22 July 1988. He started with his home time club, the club he supported as a boy, as a youth player before joining Highland League side Cove Rangers.
Posh assistant manager Kevin Russell spotted Coutts playing in a non-league international for Scotland and had attracted plenty of interest from professional clubs north of the border, but he rejected offers of trials because of a desire to make it in England.
Although there was interest from Charlton, Coutts joined Darren Ferguson at Peterborough on a three-year deal in July 2008 after impressing during a trial period with the club, which involved playing an hour during each of two pre-season friendlies, against a Liverpool XI and Stevenage.
Paul Coutts made his professional debut for Peterborough as a substitute in Peterborough's 5-4 win over Bristol Rovers on 6 September 2008. He made his first start in the following game, a week later, in a 1-1 draw at Northampton. In their promotion season from Division One Coutts made 37 league appearances and with 16 matches this season he took his tally to 53 league appearances for Posh prior to his transfer in the last few minutes of deadline day to Preston. For Posh he wore the number 7 shirt but t has not been announced yet the number he will wear for PNE.
Internationally Coutts has received 3 Scottish Under 21 caps.
Keith Treacy was born in Dublin on 13 September 1988 He was discovered by Blackburn’s scout Gerry Cassidy when he was playing for Dublin junior club, Beledere. He was an age group international for Ireland and in 2005 was voted under 16 ‘player of the year’.
Treacy signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2005 and played is first Blackburn match in a pre-season friendly against Grimsby at the age of 16. Unfortunately he soon suffered an injury which kept him out for a few months.
He joined Stockport on loan and made his league debut on 25 November 2006 with a 1-1 draw against Macclesfield. He made a further 3 appearances all away and ending in 2-0 defeats.
He made his proper Blackburn debut in a League Cup tie in a 2-1 victory at Portsmouth on 31 October 2007 as a substitute. He made his first start against Coventry on 5 January 2008 in the FA Cup third round but ended in a heavy 4-1 home defeat, and then eventually being substituted off and being replaced by striker Matt Derbyshire.
The 2008/09 season saw Tracey make 12 Premier League appearances although all but 2 were as a substitute.
In July 2009, Treacy joined Sheffield United on a six-month loan deal, making his debut for the Blades in a 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough on the first day of the 2009/10 season. His second appearance in the Championship he produced both assists for the Blades in the 2-0 win against Watford on 15 August. Three days later he scored a stunning long range goal against Leicester. After starting the season as a regular in the Blades side he had dropped out of the team by November and terminated his loan stay early to return to Blackburn in mid December after a total of 16 appearances.
He signed a two-and-a-half year contract with an option of a further year with Preston on deadline day and will wear the number 16 shirt previously occupied by Paul McKenna.
In 2008 he made the first of 4 Irish under 21 caps and has scored one goal.
