The caretaker duo rearranged the team line up again as Mccombe returned to Huddersfield allowing Carlisle to play alongside Morgan at the back. On loan Jake Jervis started up front alongside Proctor.
The Whites started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead just after the quarter hour mark. Parry crossed in after a corner was clear. Jervis managed to flick the ball into the net in a crowded area to score on his debut.
Unfortunately, Preston rarely threatened thereafter and could have soon been level when Bogdanovic on loan from Blackpool hot the bar. He soon atoned moments later when he scored to put the home side level.
Rochdale sensed a nervous Preston side who lacked any kind of game plan playing long balls and seemingly not up for the fight by failing to contest a number of balls.
Daley came on in the second half after an absene through but it was Stuckmann who saved Preston more than once to keep them in this game.
Preston ended the game with ten men after Jamie Douglas appeared to pull a hamstring with the Whites having used all three substitutes. In all honesty, it didn't matter who played up front as there was no creativity and no spark which allowed a team in the bottom four to boss the game.
