David Nugent has been linked with a return to Preston in fanciful ters for the best part of five years now. The likelihood of a return was always dashed bythe sizeable wages the striker was earning.
At a recent fans forum, advisor to the club or whatever his formal title is these days, Peter Ridsdale confirmed the club lookedat a potential loanmove back int he summer but the Teeside club did not want to release the striker having just been promoted.
It has now emerged locally that Middlesbrough want to offload the striker who has rarely featured this season. Reports suggest that Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston are all interested partis.
