Neil made changes from the FA Cup victory. Harrop kept his place although Hugill returned up front. Bodin started on the wing whilst Browne filled in at right back due to injuries.
The first half was typical of a Preston game. Nice possession up to a point but lacking any real intent in the final third. Millwall have a decent home record and are tough to beat which should see them finish clear of the bottom few.
The home side rarely troubled Maxwell until just before the break when Preston switched off. A cross came in and O'Brien got ahead of is man to tap home. It was tough on the visitors.
Bodin was pulled off at half time and will need time to adjust at this level after a poor first half. Barkhuizen came on and injected pace and liveliness to the attack.
North End pressed but it was late before an equaliser arrived. Johnson, on as a substitute for Pearson, found Cunningham in acres of space down the left. He crossed and Robinson was free to chest home from close range.
Preston couldn't find a winner in the last ten minutes and stay adrift of the top six as Brentford leapfrogged them in the table. The only other flashpoint in the game was a booking for Pearson although that is standard by now.
