Sources believed that Parkin was in Wales yesterday undergoing a medical and there was some confusion as the frontman was at Deepdale today, albeit in the crown.
Both clubs have now confirmed that as the window has re-opened, Parkin has moved for a fee of £100,000. North End have done this purely for the financial gain. The centre forward was out of contract in the summer and as of today was allowed to negotiate a move away from Deepdale without Preston receiving a fee.
It is clear that Preston did not want to offer Parkin a new contract and instead chose to reduce their wage bill accordingly whilst picking up a small fee.
