LIndsay was asked over the significant drop in odds for Davies to be installed as Preston's next manager but no approach has been made. A shortlist has already been made and Lindsay said that unless there has been a late application then Davies will not be considered for the job.
There have been a number of applicants but a shortlist has now been made and all are set to be experienced at Championship level. It is expected that candidates should be interviewed in the next few days although three names that fit the bill already are Phil Brown, Paul Hart and Gordon Strachan who have all been linked with the job.
