Defender, Neal Trotman who was injured in pre-season training has failed to feature all season due to continuing injury problems. He has recently come back into the reserves and now Irvine has allowed him the chance to gain some much needed first team football looking ahead to next season to bolster Preston's back line.
Trotman desperately needs game but so does striker Karl Hawley who has been out in the cold. With Preston having Parkin firing in the goals alongside Elliott and Mellor coming back from injury alongside Brown, chances have been limited for Hawley. He has already been sent out to Northampton earlier in the season and is now to spend a month at Colchester.
