After safety was secured with two home wins last week Grayson had always said that he was going to give his fringe players game time to assess them ahead of the end of the season.
Stuckmann was given an opportunity between the sticks although ti was a familiar back four of Connolly, Buchanan, Wright and Huntington. Monakana was givena start with Hayhurst and Holmes both injured. Garner also started up front for the injured Beavon.
Monakana has shown glimpses in recent games of what he can do and he took his chance away at Carlisle with a goal early in the game to give Preston the lead. The home side equalised just before half time from a set piece which means that these sides have now played out three draws this season including the JPT game.
Grayson will be satisfied that his team are picking up points on the road in addition to home wins. It bodes well for next season but there is still work to be done if Preston are to mount a serious threat next term.
