Grayson had to announce his retained list after the season ended last Thursday. There were very few surprises with respect to players who were released given that th emajority of players out of contract this summer were offered new deals many months ago.
Mousinho, Wroe , Beardsley and Cummins were all sent out on loan this season and wil not be returning as their contracts expire in June. It is expected that they may find clubs where they spent tiem on loan.
Youngsters Croasdale and Nicholson were also released after they failed to break into the first team matchday squad. Both only featured int he JPT defeat to Oldham.
Hume and Cansdell-Sherriff are also out of contract but their futures will be decided after they face each other on Monday int he League Two play-off final. It will be no surprise if both are released given that they are both out of contract and no new deals have been offered. Both would follow the way of the other loan players.
Ben Davies and Steven James both return from their loan spell and have had their contracts extended bya year with the former picking up young player of the season award at York City.
Jack Ryan and Neil Anderton have been promoted fromt he youth setup with a one year deal each with the option of extending the same if they break into the firts team. Both have been out on loan this season.
Kilkenny is also out of contract as his short term deal expires but Preston are hopeful of offering the midfielder a new deal. Negotiations are set to start in the near future.
Gallagher, Rudd and Craig Davies have all returned to their parent clubs. The latter will not be returning but Preston are hoping that Rudd and Gallagher will return in some capacity for next season.
