North End start the season away at Millwall and will end the season on the road at Bristol City. The last time they finished the season at Ashton Gate they were promoted as champions in 2000.
Preston were also drawn away to Bradford City in the first round of the League Cup which will take place in August. North End had a decent run in the competition last season.
If Preston are to improve on last term then they will need a better start to the season and hope that injuries do not have a significant impact when the games come thick and fast later in the season.
