This was definitely a game of two halves. The first was faily sedate with Wednesday taking an early lead and Preston failing to show any attacking intent until just before the break barring a long range Robinson effort.
The second half saw three red cards, a fight between two team mates, a penalty and a Wednesday player effectively force to play on with one arm not fully finctioning.
Preston were slow out of the blocks against Burton a week ago and at Hillsborough it was much of the same. Wednesday had on cleared by Clake which was heading towards goal before Forestieri gave the home side the lead.

Any hope seemed to be extinguished whe a through ball from the home side saw Maxwell rush out. He had no need to as the ball was angling away from goal but he was adjudges to have clipped the attcaker. Fletcher slotted home the penalty.
Preston were soo back in the game when a miss hit shot ended up at the feet of Doyle who was free in the box. He managed to slot home an Preston suged forward.

Beckford, who had earlier been upset at the team for not supporting him in an attackappeared to clash with Doyle. There was some pushing and shoving befor the two were separated. Both were sent off extinguishing any hope of a point for Preston.
The clubs meet again at the end of the month. You may have tought with all th injuries and sendings off that it was a dirty game but there was no real malice in any of the tackles. The sendings off were all justified and just a moment of madness from the individuals involved.
Preston now move on to he home derby game before the television cameras on Saurday without Doyle and Beckford who are banned or three games.
