Lee Trevor Williamson was born on 7 June 1982 in Derby.
He is a busy and creative attacking midfielder who can operate down the middle and right hand side. He started his career with Mansfield and made his debut in the 1999/2000 season in a 4-0 victory at Field Mill against Shrewsbury. He scored three league goals for Mansfield all in the 2001/02 season, the first in a 3-2 win at home against Leyton Orient and a brace in a 4-1 win at Lincoln. Williamson made 143 league appearances for Mansfield before he joined Northampton in September 2004.
His stay with the Cobblers only lasted one season making 37 appearances before joining Rotherham on a free transfer in the summer of 2005. He quickly established himself in first-team scoring 4 times in 37 appearances. In October 2006 he scored 4 goals in 3 appearances.
After 9 goals in 56 league appearances he completed a move to Watford along with teammate Will Hoskins for a combined fee of up to £1.2 million on 5 January 2007, signing a three and a half year deal.
On 31 January 2007 he played his first Premiership match for Watford in a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United and went on to make a further 4 appearances as Watford were relegated to the Championship.
Last season he scored two goals in 34 appearances, his first goal for the Hornets came in the opening Championship match at Vicarage Road as Sheffield United were beaten 1-0. On 23 May 2008 Williamson was included in a 28-man squad to play for Jamaica.
Watford played Swansea twice on the 9th and 11th November 2008 with one fixture for the league and the other being in the Carling Cup. Watford scored two goals from both of the games both of these came from Lee Williamson. He followed this up less than two weeks later with another goal against Q.P.R. making his total for the season 3 goals. Prior to joining the Lilywhites on loan for the remainder of the season he had scored 4 league goals from 71 appearances for Watford.
