Chairman Derek Shaw confirmed that he received over 100 applicants for the vacant job, most of them serious. Shaw has now narrowed down the applicants to a shortlst of six and is set to interview all six over the next few days.
It has nbeen confirmed that none of the candidates are foreign, all appear to have experience at one time or another of Championship football and Darren Ferguson is amongst one of the six.
An announcement is likely before Preston's next game on Saturday.
