It was reported on Friday that Preston were interested in signing Scott Sinclair from Celtic. The Glasgow club appeared happy to sell for a price of £2.5m. Whilst this would break Preston's transfer record it would not be an unreasonable sum given the amount received from player sales in recent times.
The stumbling block, as always, appears to be wages and Preston would have preferred a loan deal with Celtic contributing towards the wages. Celtic are unwilling to go down this line and it seems that any possible deal is diminishing by the hour.
