Preston have been improving in recent weeks thanks to the influx of loan signings but it was the outgoing Hume who secured all three points for the Whites this afternoon against a struggling Ipswich side.
Hume lined up alongside Parkin with fellow loan players Pugh, De Laet, Tonge and Cort all starting the match. Preston had most of the possession but Ipswich did trouble Preston early on coming close on a couple of occassions.
The referee missed a blatant penalty with a pull in the box but the Whites were undeterred and after the break came out much the better side. It looked like there was going to be a goal somewhere then it came on 49 minutes as Parkin crossed to an unmarked Hume to convert.
The striker now goes back to Barnsley for the rest of the year before returning to Deepdale when he is expected to confirm a three year deal with Preston. The Whites now have a tough trip to Watford to kick off the busy festive period.
