North End managed their second goalless draw in a row. A point away from home is usually a positive but with Preston's average home form this season North End have always looked to take the maximum away from home.
The visitors stay in 4th place but slip further behind in the race for the top two and as the season enters the run in a play off place is looking distinctly likely for Preston which is some improvement on recent years.
Preston picked up their 5th red card of the season although this seemed a touch harsh. In the first half Bennett from Bradford and Kilkenny were adjudged to have pushed each other after Kilkenny was fouled.
The referee showed a straight red although both parties believed that a yellow would have sufficed for both players. Both teams played the majority of the match with ten men.
North End came the closest with Josh Brownhill hitting the post although the home side also had chances. Preston will be disappointed and must now pick up 3 points at home to Notts County on Saturday.
