THREE UP FRONT

PNE manager Craig Brown admitted to the press this week that he is seriously considering three up-front for the starting game against West Ham a week on Saturday.

This will be an alert for all the teams who play PNE this season, as they have already scored 23 goals in just 6 pre-season friendlies.

Brown said: "I am looking to put three up front this season. It might just be to start with or it may become permanent.

"We have got six capable forwards in the squad so there is plenty of options."

The shock of the pre-season is definitely the on-form striker David Healy. He was contemplating on a move to Norwich at the end of last season. But he vowed to get his place back at Preston, and his great displays might get him there.

Brown confessed: "He may be in the side at the start of the season. Cresswell and Fuller are the first choices at the moment but he is close."

A player that hasn’t been involved in the pre-season friendlies is Eddie Lewis, who has been involved in the Gold Cup for USA. But Brown said that he would probably feature in the West Ham game.

The boss said: "He’s been playing all over America for USA. He won’t feature in the friendly against Everton, but he’ll probably be back for the first game against West Ham."
