Twellman: Preston - 'Right club, right time'

It has been reported in the last week that Taylor Twellman, American international striker who is currently playing for the New England Revolution in the MLS, has been the subject of speculation regarding his future. Preston have had two bids for the former Maryland star rejected by the MLS, and as a result Derek Shaw is almost resigned to defeat, stating that the deal looks 'dead in the water'.

However the player has vented his feelings in light of this to the local press, stating that it is the right time for him to move to Europe and the right club. He also went on to say; "It's a good offer. Anytime a team wants you that bad, of course you want to go". It appears that there is some confusion as to who rejected the offer, the MLS telling Twellman that it was Revolution officials and conversely Revolution insisting it was the MLS. When asked by Washington Post's Soccer reporter, Steven Goff, what his emotions where currently he replied with "I'm everywhere from confused to mad because I don't know where we are on this. I have always been told that there is no international interest out there for me, but if there were, they would consider it. So it's at the point where I feel like they've got to sell me or compensate me, whether it's with money or more guaranteed years. I don't have to make big Designated Player money. I just want something to happen."

It seems that the deal is by far from off at this current stage and player power might come into play.
