Ben Woodburn was potentially not in the thoughts of many fans when it came to pre-season signings. The midfield was one area which Lowe seemed quite content with towards the end of last season.
The youngster who had been released by Liverpool after an explosive start to his career several years ago was given a one year deal. Lowe obviously believes he can reignite the potential and clearly Woodburn impressed in his short trial period.
It will be interesting to see how Woodburn fairs after he has seemingly lost his way after a good start to his footballing career at such a young age. If he can find his scoring touch then he could be invaluable.
Preston also signed Robbie Brady who can play at wing back which is a position that Preston were desperate to fill having struggled on both flanks last season.
The main concern with Brady is over a history of injuries. He was at Bournemouth last season and prior to that he was at Burnley where his time on teh pitch was heavily restricted through injuries.
