Ward In / Gould On His Way

Gould requaested a transfer from Deepdale whilst on pre-season duty with the Whites in Ibiza last week and the North End board have granted his request.

"It came about a little bit sudden," Whites chairman derek Shaw told the clubs official website.

"Jonathan Gould asked for a transfer in Ibiza last week, Craig spoke to myself, I spoke to the other directors and we have accepted that.

"We have to move on from people who want to move on from Preston for whatever reason and we have quickly moved to bring in Gavin Ward."

Ward signed from Coventry City on a one year deal on Monday.
