After defeat in the play off semi final, chairman Derek Shaw came out with some positive news that most fans have been waiting to hear. The final phase of redevelopment which was started in the 95/96 season is set to go ahead in the near future.
Shaw unveiled plans for the fourth and final stand on Lowthorpe Road which is set to hold 8,000 fans bringing capacity upto 28,000. The stand will be similar to the Sir Tom Finney Stand but no name or frontal seat design has been made yet. A new executive area is to be included and the project is going ahead with the backing of the Preston Primary Care Trust who are taking up a large chunk underneath the stand for medical purpose in conjunction with the club.
No official date has been given for the bulldozers to move in but negotiations are being concluded after 12 months so it is expected that work may start during next season.
