It is fair to say that Grayson was restricted at the back with long term injuries. Browning who could easily have steped into the ring with Anthony Joshua flicked between playing right and centre back. The youngster looked overweight and lacked any pace. A pre-season is much needed for the defender.
Baptiste came back after suspension and he started the game with Huntington in the centre. Spurr continued on the left in the absence of Cunningham.
Preston looked light in midfield with Borwne and Johnson although the latter did have his best game for a while. May was given his first start of the seaosn alongside Hugill.
The visitors took the lead with a stunning long range shot from Smallwood. Maxwell had no chance and the goal belonged in a different game to this.
Preston did equalise before the break with Stevie May's first goal. It was worht waiting for as he curled in an effort from outside of the box. It was a starnge game with two quality goals from two very abject sides.
North End pressed for the winner towards the end with Makienok coming close on a couple of occasions but a draw was probably a fair result.
Preston now head to Wolves to complete their fixtures in wha is a dead game for both clubs.
