Rumours had been flying arund for a while that Bailey Wright was set to leave the club in January after stalling over signing a new contract which was offered several months ago.
The Australian defender has been at Preston since a teenager. There was a time when Westley took charge that Wright would be shipped out with the remainder of the squad as Preston went an overhaul of playing staff but a decision from up on high mean right avoided the cull.
The defender has progressed under Grayson although was always prone to the odd mistake or two. His current contract expired in the summer and he refused to sign a new deal.
Perhaps he was guided by his agent but it appear Bristol City offered more money and Preston have agreed a transfer anywhere between £400 - 600,000 depending on which reports you believe.
