Preston were unlucky to only be coming away from Pride Park with a solitary point after dominating the majority of the match.
Derby were starved of chances throughout the game having only two opportunities in the first half coming from mistakes from the visiting side.
Preston controlled the game and passed the ball well. Early in the second half the visitors took the lead after Claude Davis converted from a corner. Preston were well worth their lead until the last fifteen minutes when the referee gave Derby a lifeline. The referee was quick to point to the spot when it seemed that a Claude Davis headed clearance came of Youl Mawene's arm. The referee was adamant that it was a penalty despite Mawene knowing little about the incident.
Carlo Nash who did not have a save to make pulled the ball from the net as Derby equalised from the spot. The last ten minutes started a seige on the Derby goal. Lee Camp made three saves in the closing minutes one rebounding straight to Dave Jones who could not finish.
Preston drop in the table despite extending their unbeaten run to 12 games. They now face Sheffield United live on Sky on Friday night before a hectic Christmas schedule.
