Preston made it eight games unbeaten today with a 2-1 home win over high flying Cardiff City to propel the Lillywhites into the top half of the table. The Whites put in an impressive first half display with goals from Sedgwick and Agyemang sealing the victory.
Manager Davies was however, upset after the game because of two decisions which could of cost the home side two points as city came back late on in the game. The first talking point was when David Nugent was clearly pulled back in the area in the first half as the ball was floated across. The referee waved play on. In the second half Darren Purse then proceeded to handle the ball as the last defender, therefore denying Agyemang a clear run on goal. Purse was allowed to stay on the field to the disbelief of the home fans.
On the whole North End put in a solid performance and are unbeaten since the back end of September. Some worries over the fitness of Nugent who was replaced by JJ at half time and also Dave Jones who came off early.
Another big week in store for the Whites with a trip to QPR on Tuesday and the visit of Watford on Saturday.
